Fall planner launch season just keeps on coming! Our 2021 Planner Launch Series – Part Two is here to help you out. For those that can’t live without a coil, Part One of our series was dedicated to spiral, coil and wire-o planners. Now, we are switching gears – this next series installment focuses on all things book bound planners.
Book bound planners are rising in popularity in our planner community more than ever. It seems like almost every brand offers a book bound version as a sleek and portable option. The simple and compact design makes this planner such an appealing choice. It goes from board room to classroom and everywhere in between. The “lay-flat” design makes writing easier for those that feel like the binding gets in the way (when writing in their planner) and it’s also a great option if you are left handed. The covers are durable, the paper is amazing and the silk ribbon page markers are oh so stylish.
Let’ take a look at some of the book bound options for 2021:
The 2021 Annual Weekly Planners are here to help you #ReclaimYourYear by being your most intentional and productive self. There are so many new cover options plus the first colorful hardcover release and even a new spiral bound version. The book bound planners are available in three sizes (small, medium and large). Each of the new designs benefit a specific cause and aligns with the company’s vision for giving back. This year’s covers benefit Malala Fund, ARTS (A Reason To Survive), American Forests and charity: water.
INK + VOLT
Ink + Volt makes gorgeous book bound planners that combine productivity with goal setting. The planners are made from quality materials such as soft touch vegan suede or linen covers and crisp white paper. The interior pages include goal road mapping, timelines, action steps plus monthly and weekly planning. The 2021 collection has twenty color options in three color palette series (Signature, Limited Edition, Pacific and Brilliant). There are both dated and undated options.
ARCHER & OLIVE
Known for their ultra thick 160 gsm paper, Archer & Olive has been a favorite of bullet journal lovers for some time. It was only natural to create a collection of planners that offer the same quality paper and ethically-made materials. The planners are undated, A5 size with hard covers that feature beautiful artistic illustrations. The interior pages include year at a glance spreads plus monthly and weekly (horizontal) layouts with plenty of space to intentionally plan your days and get creative. Use pen, paint or marker without worrying about ghosting or bleed through. Stay tuned for another collaboration with Amy Tangerine coming soon.
For 2021, Ashley Shelly introduced Petite Planners that are a compact book bound version of her Signature Planners collection. The new planners have a smooth leatherette covers with an inside pocket, satin ribbon bookmark silver foil accents and laminated monthly tabs. There are three beautiful color options (Navy, Turquoise and Light Blue) and the interior pages have the same layouts as the Signature Planners.
RAD & HAPPY
The Rad & Happy Planner combines the fun and whimsical design of the brand with functional pages as well as coloring pages to keep you organized and happy all year. The planner is 7.5″ x 10″ size with thick white paper, a durable and wipeable cover and two ribbon book marks. The interior pages include year at a glance, goal trackers, birthday pages, monthly spreads followed by weekly spreads. The weekly spread is a vertical “dashboard” layout with weekly planning on the right and task and to do’s on the left.
Simplified is known for their coil bound Signature Simplified Daily Planner but a few years ago by popular demand created a Signature Weekly Planner that is book bound and features all the same gorgeous covers as the daily version. The weekly version has monthly spreads and weekly horizontal layouts with space for appointments, to do’s and meals plus all the same up front pages as the daily.
In addition to the Signature Weekly Planners, Simplified also has the Dapperdesk Planner (originally designed for men) which is vegan leather, soft book bound planner with simple daily layouts. The Dapperdesk Planner is available in two cover options (Navy and Gold Dot) and launches with the calendar year (January – December) release. Dapperdesk is now also available as part of the collaboration with At-A-Glance at Staples and Office Depot stores.
CEO OF MY OWN LIFE
The CEO Of My Own Life Planner, made by Ella Iconic, is designed to help you juggle all areas of your life like business and career, home and family, health and fitness and most important you. The planner is A5 size with faux leather cover in four color options. The interior pages are 100 gsm and include goal setting, monthly master plans and spreads, habit tracking, financial planning plus weekly or daily layouts. Additional dot grid pages have been added for 2021 and an elastic band plus the daily planner includes a weekly overview at the beginning of each week. The planners are currently available for pre-order on the website.
For 2021, Erin Condren has added updated Softbound LifePlanners to the collection featuring the new Layers design. The Softbound Planner Collection includes two sizes A5 (horizontal layout) and 8″ x 10″ (vertical, horizontal or hourly) with a combination of five cover options. They also have softbound planners in the Focus Collection as well. New for this year is the Pocket Planner, which is also a softbound planner in a more compact version with streamlined interior layouts.
With all of these options, we are sure to see some book bound planner spreads coming in 2021.
