ANSWER: Shantá @simplyshantas_plans

Shantá’s love of planning began at a very young age when the matriarchs in her family introduced her to a color coding system on their family calendar.  Throughout elementary school, she kept a planner for school and would even help her classmates organize their planners.  In 2013, after graduating college, she received her first Erin Condren planner from her mother which led her to find the planner community.  Then in 2020, she decided to share her planner journey and created her Instagram and YouTube accounts. Planning has become a means to keeping her life organized, coping with anxiety disorder, creating and connecting with others.

As a special education teacher, Shantá uses an Erin Condren Teacher Lesson Planner for work along with a few other planners like an Erin Condren Hourly LifePlanner for memory keeping/creative planning and a MäkseLifēPlanner for goal setting and progress monitoring. For daily planning, she switches things up and has tried several different styles including a Go Getter Girl Planner, a Plum Paper A5 daily planner, a Erin Condren Daily Duo (7×9 & A5), Plan With Laur x Bloom Planners Daily Notepad and other notepads. Her planning essentials include  mildliners, Pentel Energel Infree, Cutter Bee scissors, a ruler, whiteout and tweezers plus stickers, washi tape, and photos.  Shantá hopes to inspire others and bring joy through sharing her functional style and love of creative and decorative planning.

ANSWER: Courtney @clmplans

Courtney Miles loves all things paper, stamping, coloring and stickers. She is the master planner behind @clmplans, which if you follow her then you know her spreads are #goals. She is a busy working mom and uses her planners to juggle her work and home life. Her planner journey began around 2014, after her first child was born, when she started using her planner to document and jot daily memories.  Courtney definitely has a unique aesthetic and when it comes to her planners, she likes to mix it up. She uses multiple planners and exploring different planner sizes and layouts is a way for her to embrace the creative side of planning while still keeping things organized.

Her planner stack has a bit of everything. It has ranged from a Hobonichi Cousin (as her main planner), to A5 rings and HP mini (list making), to an Archer & Olive for art/ journaling to The Sassy Planner for all her creative stamping and coloring. She is also currently setting up a new B6. Some of her favorite planning essentials include gel pens, transparent sticky notes, script stickers, white out and stamps/inks.  Whether she is being ultra creative with stamps and coloring or minimal with icons and pen, Courtney is amazing at creating spreads that are beautiful and inspiring. ANSWER: Jenn @chappyplans

Jenn Chapman is the creative mind behind @chappyplans. She loves all things decorative planning, memory keeping and bullet journaling. Jenn jumped into planning in 2016 after having her daughter and never looked back. She immediately fell in love with creating and using stickers in her planner to keep herself organized. Currently, she uses a Happy Planner, either vertical or dashboard, as her catch-all planner along with a mini Happy Planner for on-the-go.  She also put together a “transformer” Happy Planner, with a mixture of different layouts and filler papers to track wellness, social media and faith journaling. Besides stickers, her favorite planning essentials are gel pens (Tul or Pilot G-2), Fiskars X-Acto knife, Tombow correction tape, Undu and a We Are Memory Keepers disc punch.

Her planner stack also includes two Archer & Olive bullet journals for creative art journaling and memory keeping plus a big Happy Planner for photo journaling. Lately, she has been enjoying practicing her brush lettering and using some stamps, distress inks and sprays in her journals. Creating is what brings her joy and you can find her sharing her process on social media regularly.  She is an ambassador for Rongrong and on the PR team for According to Ali.  We can’t wait to see what she creates next!

ANSWER: Amanda Leigh @amandaleighplans

Amanda definitely loves all things paper. After finding the planner community in 2015, she started her IG account to begin sharing her process and inspiring others.  Her journey began with a brief time in an Erin Condren coil planner which she quickly changed out for a Kikki K personal rings. Shortly after, she jumped on the TN trend and used a pocket size Foxy Fix for awhile until finally switching to pocket rings, which is still her current favorite.  She fell in love with decorative planning and cute pastel characters but it wasn’t until she gave minimal planning (Cloth & Paper) a try that she found planner peace! These days, Amanda keeps her planning style functional (pocket rings and an A6 notebook) with neutral colors, vellum dashboards and a variety of inserts. She is a huge advocate for trackers in your planner to keep on top of things like medications, sleep, shopping and more. Her must-have essentials include transparent sticky notes and stickers and black pens.

Her paper obsession has led her to venture into the world of collage journaling. Amanda currently switches between three journals (passport, A6 and standard size) which are all made out of handmade papers from all over the world. It has allowed her to really embrace her creative side with layering different papers, wax seals and other ephemera on the pages. Each journal is more beautiful than the other one, like mini scrapbooks of art. Take a look at some of her recent flip-throughs and set ups below.

ANSWER: Dani @theplannerteawithdani

Dani discovered the planner community through YouTube and Instagram back in 2015 after having her first child. She purchased her first Erin Condren planner and fell in love with planning and decorating it.  Being from New York, Dani was able to find a local planner group (NYC Planner Addicts) and attend her first planner event.  Over the years, she has made lifelong friends and is now a moderator of the NYC Planner Addicts Facebook group. Her planning style has evolved, but she really found her groove when she discovered The Happy Planner. Using a discbound system allows her to get creative and customize her planner to work for her.  More recently, she has embraced bullet journaling and memory keeping in her Archer & Olive books.  She uses all kinds of stickers, highlighters and Sharpie S Gel pens to decorate her spreads.  Dani loves planning because it helps her stay on task, document memories and inspire others to be creative and start planning.
