May Designs is well-known and loved in the planner community for their beautifully designed and personalizable notebooks. Founded by Mica May in 2009, the company marks their ten year milestone this month. What started out as a simple sewn notebook company, then called May Books, has now grown into a stylish lifestyle brand offering customizable stationery products, accessories and more.
To celebrate their tenth anniversary, May Designs is bringing back 100 design patterns from their vault! These patterns include everything from the traditional and simple to geometric and whimsical. As always, these unique patterns can be used on any May Designs product of your choice, like signature notebooks, tumblers, accessory bags, phone cases and stationery. The 100 original patterns can be found featured on the website under the 10th Anniversary Celebration. Here is a quick peek..
With hundreds of cover patterns and dozens of page layouts ranging from simple dot grid to agendas and fitness trackers, you are sure to create a book that is just right for you. The notebooks are available in three size options – large, classic and mini. On their website you can go through the builder process and design your own by selecting the cover pattern, interior page layout as well as adding personalization. The notebooks are extremely durable and hand-made. The covers are made of a one-of-a-kind canvas paper and the pages are part post-consumer waste recycled paper that are stitched with thread through a traditional sewing machine.
Recently, May Designs introduced May Mail and May Magic which are two subscription based services. May Mail is a boxed collection of exclusive products and designs delivered to your home monthly. May Magic is an online digital download subscription full of decorative and “DIY” type items appropriate to the season.
Through the years, May Designs has been named one of Oprah’s Favorite Things, has been featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show, Real Simple magazine and Austin Women magazine. Their products have also been included in Birchbox and Popsugar boxes nationwide. They have done numerous collaborations with other companies including Emily Ley, Studio Calico and Kelly Wynn just to name a few. Their recent collaboration with Blue Sky has sprouted an entire line on products now sold at Target stores.
At the heart of May Designs is a love for design and eco-friendly products that bring joy and magic to your everyday life. The anniversary patterns will be available until the end of the year. There is also a special sweepstakes to win your own collection of 2020 notebooks by sharing original May Designs notebooks on Instagram with the hashtag #MDTurns10.
Looking forward to another ten!
