Behind The Shop - Quirky Heart

Behind The Shop is an ongoing series that features our talented and devoted shop owner community. Each time, we talk one-on-one with a shop owner/s to hear first hand what shop life is all about. Whether it’s a new shop that just came onto the scene or a popular community favorite – we want to share more about their journeys and stories with you.

Michelle Baxter has been a planner and scrapbooker for years.  Her “quirky” style and passion for creativity has turned into her well-known signature brand, Quirky Heart.  She started her crafting journey at a young age back around 2006 as an devout scrapbooker. After searching for scrapbooking materials that fit her younger lifestyle, she decided to create her own. At the time, most of the supplies on the market were geared towards moms and families. Shortly after, she made the switch from paper scrapbooking to digital and her first business was born. Michelle was able to convert the physical art she was creating into digital files (before IPads) to sell.

Then in 2015, she found the world of creative/decorative planning and has never looked back. She has explored many different planners, layouts and formats and continues to push the envelope creatively and inspire others to do the same. Her unique style shines through on all her projects whether it’s a hobonichi weekly spread, an art journal or December Daily project. Michelle really likes to mix things up with stamps, distress inks, stencils and more to keep her spreads interesting and fun.

We chatted with Michelle all about her love for creating, scrapbooking and planning plus her plans for the shop on Etsy. Take a listen below:

QUIRKY HEART SHOP

Michelle’s love of paper isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. At the end of 2020, she decided to begin selling her art again. She opened the Quirky Heart shop on Etsy which features a variety of printable products including stickers, die cuts, pattern papers, vellums and journaling cards for scrapbooking. The art and graphics are inspired by her love of pop culture, tv shows, movies and books. The digital files are available in jpeg, pdf and png formats. She is expanding the shop with a catalogue of products in a signature color palette along with fun seasonal items.
