We all know that moms have super busy schedules. Being responsible for home, work, meals, kids and family life in general can become overwhelming. Finding the best planner and actually using it can really make a difference between being productive and being stressed out.  But with so many choices, how do you know which one is right for you?

By far, one of the key things to finding the right planner is choosing the interior layout that works for you. Knowing what you want to schedule and track in your planner and how it fits into the designed pages inside will help make the process much easier. Most planners are designed with one user in mind but as a mom you are most likely tracking the schedules of the entire family.  This can make finding a planner a bit of a challenge. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with an inside look at some of the best planner layouts for busy moms.

DAILY LAYOUTS are a great option for busy moms because there is so much space to list all the appointments, to dos, errands, notes and more. Many include a time schedule column and list making sections which make it easy for time blocking tasks and appointments plus keeping track of so much more that goes on in a normal hectic day.

GRID LAYOUTS are another great option because these pages allow you to breakdown your days and weeks by subject or category. Each column could be assigned to a particular area of life (ie work, home, kids) or dedicate each one to a specific family member (ie Mom, Dad, John, Emma). However you decide to categorize each column, a grid layout gives you a quick snapshot of what is happening for the week without missing a beat.

WEEK ON ONE PAGE LAYOUTS also work really well for busy moms because half the layout is your week at a glance for appointments and key dates while the other half serves as a total “command center”. This extra space is great for making all your lists, meal plans, bills, work tasks and whatever else may come along. It’s a great way to get it all out of your head and down on paper.

Many planner companies now offer free printable downloads so you can try before you buy. If you have chosen a planner, check their website for this option so you can make sure the layout works for you. Fill in a sample week and give it a test run before you commit.
