PlannerCRUSH - January

We are so excited to share our latest “#PlannerCRUSH” with you! In this series we share the planning style of someone in our community that we just can’t get enough of. We are talking about saving all the IG posts, scrolling the reels feed and binge watching all the PWMs. Each time, we will feature a clue along with a few planner pics to see if you can recognize our #plannercrush?  Here goes:

CLUE: She is a planning “maximalist”…

ANSWER: Katelyn @katelynplans

Katelyn has been planning for as long as she can remember. Although her first “real” planner was an Erin Condren LifePlanner she got the summer before college. By her sophomore year, she discovered The Happy Planner as well as the online planner community. She loved decorating her planner and would spend time printing and cutting templates of stickers with an X-acto knife because the world of planner stickers and sticker shops had not yet become popular.

Over the years, her love of creative planning has continued because it not only helps keep her life in order and organized but also provides a creative outlet. With a background in art, Katelyn is able to mix and match different paper crafting elements such as stickers, scrapbook paper, ephemera, stamps and more for a layered look. But, stickers are also her starting point. She loves to shop from small sticker shops or make her own. Using stickers also helps make her spreads functional and easier for her to recall events that stand out in her schedule. The result is a layered look that has junk journal qualities but in a planner spread format.

For 2025, her planner stack includes a combination of Happy Planners (Classic Vertical for personal and Big Dashboard for work ) as well as a MäksēLife Goal Planner (undated). She opted for an undated monthly goal planner in order to give herself grace if she doesn’t get to fill out every week/month. She prefers the MäksēLife system because it helps break bigger goals down into actionable steps which makes accomplishing things less overwhelming. Some of her favorite planning essentials include stickers (of course), Tombow tape runners for gluing down scrapbook paper and die cuts, white out, black PaperMate Flair pens and highlighters.
