We are so excited to share our latest “#PlannerCRUSH” with you! In this series we share the planning style of someone in our community that we just can’t get enough of. We are talking about saving all the IG posts, scrolling the reels feed and binge watching all the PWMs. Each time, we will feature a clue along with a few planner pics to see if you can recognize our #plannercrush? Here goes:
CLUE: Planning isn’t perfect because life isn’t perfect…
ANSWER: Michelle @thatmrsmiller
Like most of us, Michelle thrives on structure and to-do lists. Planning out her days and journaling is therapeutic and helps keep a sense of calm and low anxiety. She also loves the creative feeling planning brings when she is decorating, lettering and using stickers on her pages. She discovered the planner community in 2017 after a friend recommended she try a Happy Planner and told her about posting planner pics on Instagram. At first creating picture perfect spreads was a bit overwhelming, but these days she plans more for herself and not for Instagram.
Throughout her planner journey, Michelle has tried many planners (including Happy Planner, Erin Condren, Plum Paper and Ringbound) but juggling multiple planners never really worked for her. Now, she has found “planner peace” in a Hobonichi Cousin Avec she purchased on a whim last year. The Hobonichi really took her by surprise and she fell in love with using it. Her biggest tip for using all the space (yearly, monthly, weekly and daily spreads) is having a plan for how to use each section before diving in.
Finding the right pens to work with the Tomoe River paper was a process but she recommends the Pilot Juice .38, Pilot Decimo fountain pen, and the Tombow Fudenosuke hard tip brush pen. Michelle also loves using stickers in her planner, Mandy Lynn Plans and The Coffee Monsterz Co are her favorites. Her other must have essentials include post-it notes, Zig Clean Color Dot Markers and a tweezer.
